What do we need in order to get married in Texas?

You must obtain a marriage license from the county clerk's office at least 72-hours (3 days) prior to your wedding (this requirement can be waived for active-duty military personnel). Blood tests and medical examinations are not required in Texas. When applying for your license, you will need one valid form of id such as drivers license, certified copy of your birth certificate, U. S. passport, military ID card, and your Social Security number. Neither one of you need to be a resident of Texas.

Who can perform our wedding ceremony?

Persons authorized to perform weddings in Texas include licensed or ordained Christian ministers, priests, Jewish rabbis, officers authorized by religious organizations, justices and judges, including those who have retired, and magistrates of a federal court of Texas.

What services does Reverend Joe provide as an officiant?

Reverend Joe will work with you prior to your wedding to finalize the ceremony, he will officiate the wedding, complete and sign the marriage license, and assure that the license is returned to the appropriate Texas County in accordance with the instructions set forth by the jurisdiction from where the license was obtained. The County will return a certified copy of the license directly to you.

How do we secure a date for our wedding?

Reverend Joe schedules weddings on a “first come - first served” basis. Payment in full will secure your wedding date and time. If you are forced to cancel your wedding plans, a full refund is provided with 12 months advance notice. Within 1 year, no refunds can be provided. Contact Reverend Joe directly if you need to reschedule your wedding. He will do his best to accommodate changes to the date or time of your wedding.

How do we arrange to use Calovic Chapel and Reception area?

Calovic Chapel and the adjacent Reception area are available for use by any of Reverend Joe's couples. The chapel and reception area are located on Reverend Joe's property approximately 20-minutes southwest of downtown austin. Will Reverend Joe travel to our wedding site?

Reverend Joe is happy to travel to any location to perform your wedding ceremony. Please contact him directly to discuss options for locations outside of the local area. Information on how to reach Reverend Joe is available on the Contact page.

Can we arrange to get married on short-notice?

Situations sometimes arise that require an officiant to perform a marriage ceremony on short notice. Reverend Joe is willing to work with you to help in these situations. Same day weddings can often be accommodated, schedule permitting. Contact him directly to discuss your options.

How long is the ceremony?

A typical wedding ceremony takes between 15 and 20 minutes depending on the options you choose to include in the ceremony. Reverend Joe will provide additional details of the ceremony prior to your wedding. Please contact Reverend Joe directly if you have any questions.

Can we customize the wedding ceremony?

Reverend Joe will talk with you prior to your ceremony to review his ceremonies and help you select the vows of your choice. He is open to special additions, requests, or insertions you may wish to add to your ceremony. Special requests such as mentioning or joining family members in the ceremony, ring blessings, and candle lighting ceremonies can all be accommodated.

Do we need to meet with Reverend Joe prior to our wedding?

Reverend Joe would be happy to review his ceremonies and help you select your vows over the telephone if you would prefer. His goal is to make arranging your wedding as easy and stress free as possible.

Is a rehearsal included with the officiant services?

The officiant fee does not include a rehearsal. Reverend Joe will talk with you about the wedding and his roll before and during the ceremony prior to your wedding day. If you feel a rehearsal is necessary, Reverend Joe will provide this service for the same amount as his officiant fee.
